Fashionhaus is a playful exploration of the interactions between textiles and bodies, celebrating ways we choose to dress and express ourselves with movement, sound, colour, costume and texture.
Using installation, sculpture, performance, video, and claymation, Fashionhaus will explore different interpretations of textiles, juxtaposing the tactility of the tangible textiles with newer media representations of textiles, and how each of these engages with the body.
Fashionhaus took place as part of Klanghaus, a Bay Area monthly immersive performance art event. Klanghaus is a collective made up of visual artists, performers, and curators. Through the use of fabrics, lighting, sound, and the imagination, Klanghaus hosts immersive monthly art events in the Bay Area, featuring artists working across the visual arts including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, installation, video, digital art, wearable art and textile arts, as well as dance, performance, and music. Klanghaus’ mission is to provide a platform for emerging and underrepresented artists to present their work in a safe and supportive environment, encouraging collaboration and cross-pollination between artistic mediums and practices.
